Originally graduating University with a BSc in Biochemistry, and having spent time working for biotechnology companies both in New Zealand and abroad, Nick returned to University in 2008 to follow his other great passion, wine. Upon completing the Post Graduate Diploma in Viticulture and Oenology at Lincoln University, Nick returned home to the small winemaking region of Nelson to begin work as an assistant winemaker at the regions oldest and most prestigious winery. During his time in Nelson, Nick travelled overseas to further his winemaking experience, working harvests and travelling extensively in both the USA and Canada. Upon returning from Canada, and looking for a new challenge, Nick made the move to New Zealand’s largest winegrowing region, Marlborough. Since then, Nick has revelled in the opportunity to make exceptional wines from a number of varieties, in arguably one of the finest and most spectacular winegrowing regions in the world.
Nick has a great passion for the outdoors, and extreme sports. He spends most of his spare time in the summer fly fishing and hiking in the mountains surrounding Marlborough, and in the winter can be found chasing fresh snow on his snowboard.
