Irvine, CA – October 9, 2014 – San Miguel sponsored Mayoral Candidate, Lorri Galloway’s Meet & Greet to celebrate Filipino-American history month on Friday, October 3rd in Lorri’s beautiful historic campaign office located in the heart of Anaheim’s civic center. The event was apropos as October is Filipino-American History month and no other beverage
accompanies an event steeped in Filipino history and culture better than SanMiguel Beer. Attendees arrived at 5:00pm sharp and were greeted by a beautifully well-organized celebration of Filipino-American heritage. The event was catered by a spectacular presentation of gourmet Filipino cuisine. A San Miguel bar was featured in the grand room where guests gathered around to enjoy San Miguel beer and live entertainment while in anticipation of Lorri’s speech.
San Miguel has been very active within the Filipino-American community and strives to be a pillar of support and a recognized symbol within the culture. The US market has adopted the San Miguel brand but it will always remain the original Pan-Asian beer brand. “This was the perfect opportunity to lend our support.” said a spokesperson for San Miguel
“As a first generation Filipino American, our home life was filled with the culture and traditions of my parents. I am so honored that San Miguel Beer, a tradition of the Philippine people that is known the world over for its spirit of excellence, sponsored my event to become the first Filipino American Mayor in Anaheim’s 157 history. “ Said Lorri as she gave a heartfelt speech and spoke of her Filipino-American heritage and her plans for the city once she is appointed Mayor of Anaheim, CA. She thanked San Miguel for their support and closed her speech with an astounding applause from her audience. The remainder of the night was spent gathered around the San Miguel bar in the grand room while guests sipped their San Miguel beer and mingled while waiting to chat with Lorri and her team. As Mayor, Lorri will be the first female and the first person of color in the city’s 157 year history. The night was a perfect representation of Filipino-American heritage and the great contributions they’ve made to the US.
